SRT FRICTION TECHNICAL NOTE

With a high coefficient and low compressibility, StreetRoadTrack pads are more likely to produce brake noise than lower performance friction materials.

Every effort has been made to minimize brake noise without compromising performance. StreetRoadTrack pads are manufactured with composite damping shims and OE pad geometry, greatly reducing the chance of noise. However, some noise will be present on sensitive vehicles.

PERFORMANCE SPECS
  • WHEEL CLEANLINESS
Measure degree to which pads keep wheels looking clean and addresses customers need to have dust free wheels.
10 = Wheels are spotless. 1 = Wheels are unreasonably dusty.
    3.0
  • EASE OF HAND WASHING
Measures ease of which stains / dirt from disc brake pads can be removed by normal washing methods, addresses concerns about removing residue from hands.
10 - Stains wash off easily. 1 = Almost impossible to wash hands clean.
    7.0
  • BRAKE NOISE
Measures degree to which pads cause brake noise - addresses customer's need for quiet braking.
10 = Brakes are noiseless. 1 = Brakes are unreasonably noisy.
    6.0
  • ROTOR LIFE
Measure the expected life or rotors prior to replacement - addresses customer's need for reasonable rotor life.
10 = Longer life than any person would keep the vehicle. 1 = Excessive immediate wear.
    7.0
  • PAD LIFE
Measure expected life of pads prior to replacement - addresses customer's need for reasonable pad life.
    10 = More than 10,000 Km. 1 = Less than 5,000 Km.
    7.5
  • OPERATING FRICTION LEVEL (Long Term Pedal Feel)
Measure typical friction level for bulk of working life of pad, addresses customer's need for good pedal feel.
10 = High Performance (feels great) 1 = Low performance (too much effort)
    9.5
  • GREEN FRICTION LEVEL (Initital Pedal Feel)
Measure initial friction level or pads when first installed on vehicle - addresses customer's need for good pedal feel.
10 = High Performance (feels great) 1 = Poor performance (too much effort)
    9.0
  • COLD REDUCTION (Effectiveness)
Measure variation on friction level from the Operating Friction Level when pads are cold - addresses customer's need for pedal feel to be consistent.
10 = Exactly same as Operating Friction level. 1 = Will not stop when cold.
    9.0
  • HIGH SPEED REDUCTION (Stopping)
Measure variation on friction level from the Operating Friction Level when when stopping at high speed - addresses customer's need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Exactly same as Operating Friction level. 1 = Measurably lower.
    9.5
  • ROTOR SCORING
Measures degree to which pads wear grooves and ridges on rotor surface - addresses customer's need for even rotor wear.
10 = Mirror like - even finish. 1 = Very rough, badly scored finish.
    7.0
  • FADE (Repeated Stops)
Measures decrease in friction over repeated heavy-duty stops as temperature increases - addresses customer's need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Friction does not change at all. 1 = Friction decreases to dangerously low level.
    9.0
  • IN-STOP FADE (Single Stop)
Measures decrease in friction during a single stop - addresses customer's need for consistent pedal feel.
10 = Friction does not change at all. 1 = Friction increases to dangerously low level.
    9.0
