Steve Drake Drives to Victory in opening night of Carl Trimmer Classic.
Steve Drake took advantage of his front row starting bid to capture Friday, October 15, opening night of the Carl Trimmer Classic feature at Tucson’s USA Raceway. Drake took the lead at the green from pole sitter Joey Moriarty and never looked back. Jeremy Payne moved up from his sixth place starting spot to 2nd but wasn’t able to catch Drake. Lonnie Parker Jr, who changed cars due to engine issues in the 8 car moved up from his last place starting spot to take seventh. 30 Super Late Models were on hand for the first night.

Carl Trimmer Classic
USA Raceway – Tucson, AZ
Jeremy Payne took full advantage of his pole position and got the jump on Mike Balcaen from the first wave of the green in night number 2 of the Carl Trimmer Classic. Payne remained flawless for the entire 25 laps and lapped everyone up to the 5th place finisher, Steve Drake. Payne’s teammate, RC Whitwell drove from his fifth place spot to give the EDG team and Jeff Sires a one-two finish.
The rest of the field battled for the remaining positions with Nick Bartels taking 4th and Friday nights winner, Drake rounding out the top 5.
